We can’t underestimate the benefit of onion as it contains antioxidant, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and antihistamine properties too.In fact, onion can throw out toxins too. It can reduce bad cholesterol. In fact, that is why onion is part of almost all types of salads.Also, Indians prepare most of their spicy dishes with onion. Now, here are some ways in which you can use onion as medicine.
1.Warts: Cut an onion in circle and put it on the wart. Tie a cloth on it so that it doesn’t move. Leave it there overnight and remove it in the morning. Repeat this practice for a few days. The wart may go away in some days.
2.Cough: Cut an onion into pieces and juice it up. Add few drops of honey and drink it twice a day to get rid of cough.
3.Burns: In case of minor burns while cooking in your kitchen, put an onion slice on the burnt area of your skin for a couple of minutes. It heals.
4.Common Cold: If you are suffering from cold, put an onion near your sleeping place. It is said to absorb the microorganisms and irritants.
5.Fever: Before going to sleep, do this: cut an onion, a potato and 2 cloves of garlic into pieces. Put those pieces in a pair of socks and wear it and sleep.
6.Sinus Issues: Eat raw onions to clear your sinuses soon. Also, prepare ginger tea by boiling onion along with ginger.
