ATS says the two Kashmiri youths were recruiting people for the terror outfit.
The Uttar Pradesh police on Friday arrested two alleged operatives of Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Deoband, Saharanpur, on Friday.
The Kashmiri youths arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) were identified as Shahnawaz Teli and Aqib Ahmed Malik.
While Teli is from Kulgam, Malik is a resident of Pulwama, ATS officials said.
The arrests were made on inputs from a student in Deoband, the ATS said without revealing his identity.
Two .32 bore pistols and 30 live cartridges were found in their rooms after a search operation. “Jihadi chat, video and photos” were found in their mobile phones, the ATS said. It claimed that the two were recruiting people for the terror outfit.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which took over the probe into the Pulwama terror attack case from police, had named the JeM in the First Information Report.
