THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has lent his helping hand to Malayali students who were stranded in military observation camp in New Delhi.
They include 43 students who reached Delhi from Italy last month and Oommen Chandy’s immediate intervention helped them reach Kerala on Thursday.
The students reached Delhi on March 14 and they had been under observation in a military camp there for 28 days.
The desperate students called Oommen Chandy as they could not find any other means to reach Kerala.
Following this, the former chief minister intervened and arranged special interstate transit pass and essential food for the students.
The students were brought to Kerala in two buses. After reaching Kerala, the students called up Oommen Chandy and thanked him.
