Mahindra e-KUV100 Electric Mini-SUV To Launch In 2019

The eKUV100 model, which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018, was equipped with 30kW (41bhp) motor and lithium-ion battery that also powers the eVerito. However, the new model could receive an updated motor and battery pack at the time of launch. The concept model had a driving range of over 140km. It also features an optional fast charging that could charge the battery to 80 per cent in less than an hour.
The company is also developing highly efficient electric powertrains with power outputs ranging from 90kW to 165kW (120bhp to 204bhp). Adding to it, Mahindra Electric is also working on high-density batteries. Previous media reports claim that the eKUV100 could receive a bigger motor that can offer a range of 350km under the EPA’s testing cycle. This model could achieve a top speed of 186kmph and 0-100kmph in 9 seconds. We believe that Mahindra will stick with the updated version of the eVerito’s powertrain to achieve aggressive pricing.
The electric KUV100 is also likely to come equipped with several connectivity features such as remote diagnostics, smartphone connectivity, cabin pre-cooling and location tracking. Similar to the concept, the production-ready model could receive a function that can track the user’s driving pattern.
