Appliances major unveils 54 models
Consumer electronics firm LG India is targeting sales of almost 13 lakh air conditioners (ACs) this year, an increase of over 40% from 2018, driven by new product launches, said Vijay Babu, the company’s vice-president, home appliances and air conditioners.
The company, which had sold almost nine lakh units last year, on Monday launched 54 new AC models priced between ₹31,990 and ₹69,990.
Penetration low at 5%
“The penetration of ACs is only around 5% in India, so there is a huge opportunity for growth,” he said.
Mr. Babu added, “In 2017, we were the first brand to shift the entire line-up of ACs to inverter range as we wanted to offer the most energy-efficient solutions to consumers… today, inverter ACs constitutes 60 % of the total AC industry.”
