The film will be a sequel to the 1996 blockbuster that had Kamal Hassan, Manisha Koirala, Urmila Matondkar and Sukanya in the lead. Kajal Aggarwal, who has been roped in as the female lead, has been learning Varma Kalai from a professional. It’s a martial art practiced in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Interestingly, in the original film Indian (1996), Kamal Haasan ’ s character also uses Varma kalai.
