After resgistering its all-time high of over 40,000 cases on Monday, India saw a dip in new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday as the country recorded 37,148 new patients and 587 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Total COVID-19 positive cases stand at 11,55,191 including 4,02,529 active cases, 7,24,578 cured/discharged/migrated and 28084 deaths, as per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data.
Meanwhile, AIIMS-Delhi on Monday began recruiting volunteers for conducting human clinical trials of the indigenously developed COVID-19 vaccine candidate Covaxin, the premier medical institute’s Director Dr Randeep Guleria said.
He also said there is not much evidence of community transmission of COVID-19 happening at the national level.
The process of administering the vaccine among the volunteers have already started in Hyderabad and Goa.
