Just ahead of first death anniversary of legendary actor Sridevi on February 24, her husband Boney Kapoor has decided to put her favorite handwoven Kota saree up for auction to raise funds for a charity.
The saree’s auction is being hosted on Parisera, a handcrafted products website. The proceeds from the auction will be shared with Concern India Foundation that helps underprivileged women, children and the differently-abled in the fields of education, health and community development.
According to media reports, the bid began at Rs 40,000 and has now touched Rs 1,30,000. The homage mentions the sari as a ‘constant reminder of her roots’ and added that Sridevi’s style has evolved since her early days in the film industry.

Srivedi was a fashion icon in the whole film industry, the way she uses to carry her sari was remarkable. The luxurious sari collection which once caught every eye now been displayed to be commercialized.
A few days back, Boney Kapoor along with his daughters Janhvi and Khushi had gone to Chennai to Sridevi’s maternal home. There a prayer meeting was held in order to mark her first death anniversary.
