As many as 4,35,142 regular students will appear for the exams at 2,923 centres
This year’s SSLC/ THSLC/ AHSLC examinations will begin on Wednesday.
As many as 4,35,142 students will appear for the examinations in the regular category at 2,923 centres in the State and nine each in Lakshadweep and the Gulf region.
Of the total candidates, 2,22,527 are boys and 2,12,615 girls. While 2,62,125 students appear from aided schools, 1,42,033 students are from government schools, and 30,984 from unaided schools.
Students sitting for the examinations from the Gulf region number 495 and from Lakshadweep 682. In the private category, 1,867 are appearing under the new scheme (PCN) and 333 in the old scheme (PCO).
The maximum number of students is from Malappuram educational district – 27,436 and the least from Kuttanad educational district – 2,114.
The centre having the maximum number of students is PKMMHS, Edaricode, in Tirurangadi educational district – 2,411. The least is at Government Girls High School, Peringara, in Thiruvalla educational district – two students.
In the THSLC category, 3,212 candidates are appearing for the examinations at 48 exam centres. Of them, 2,957 are boys, and the remaining girls. There is only one exam centre in the AHSLC category – Art Higher Secondary School , Kalamandalam, Cheruthuruthy, with 82 students.
In the SSLC Hearing Impaired category, 284 students will appear for the examinations at 29 centres, and in the THSLC (Hearing Impaired), 14 students will appear for the exam at one centre.
Valuation of answer scripts will begin in two phases at 54 centralised valuation camps. The first phase will be from April 5 to April 13 and the second from April 25 to May 2.
The order posting chief examiners and assistant examiners of the valuation camps will be available on the Pareeksha Bhavan website from March 29.
